Introduction
Ryde is a car rental product where travelers browse a fleet, pick dates, and complete bookings with international (Stripe) or local Ethiopian (Chapa) payments. It ships as a Vite/React web app on Netlify plus an Expo React Native app that shares the same Supabase backend. Admins manage cars, bookings, users, and contact messages from a dedicated dashboard.
Goal
End-to-end rental flow
Let users search/filter cars, view specs and images, reserve dates, pay, and manage bookings and favorites from profile.
Local + card payments
Support Chapa for Ethiopia and Stripe for cards via Supabase Edge Functions and webhooks.
Ops-ready admin
Give operators a dashboard to add/edit cars, oversee bookings and users, and handle inbound messages.
Challenge
Coordinating booking availability, dual payment gateways (Stripe PaymentIntent/checkout + Chapa), and webhook confirmation so paid bookings stay consistent across web, mobile, and admin.
Outcome
